Requirements for the Creative Writing emphasis in the M. The creative writing emphasis is a 24 credit-hour course of study with an additional 6-hour thesis requirement.

The two-year degree culminates in a creative thesis. Course Requirements The MFA is an eight-course, credit degree, including four workshops, four graduate literature courses, and a world language requirement.

Language Requirement Each student who has not previously completed at least two college courses of intermediate study in a non-English world language may fulfill the language requirement in one of the following ways: Satisfactory completion of XL Literary Translation: Practice and Theory students who choose this option may first wish to consult the course instructor; they must also choose a mentor from the language department for the source language from which they are working.
